Szczecin Lagoon travel region
A region almost too beautiful to pass on
Vacation at last! Hitch up the caravan to the car, pack the camper van or tie the tent to the bike - your independent, individual trip to the Szczecin Lagoon can begin. The region in the north-east of Germany is designated as the Szczecin Lagoon Nature Park and boasts a diverse and partly untouched natural landscape.

Cozy places await you here and each of them has something special. There are places directly on the Szczecin Lagoon, by the lake or river and away from the coast, pure nature or a tourist highlight is on offer. A list of the individual places can be found on our website https://urlaub-am-stettiner-haff.de/aktivitaeten/campen-am-stettiner-haff/

Szczecin Lagoon - a region of 1000 possibilities

Gentle waves, shallow shores and soft, golden sand - perfect conditions for a day at the beach. The small, cozy beaches in the region are set by nature, mostly framed by reed belts and not so crowded. In the seaside resort of Ueckermünde, the resort town of Mönkebude and the tourist resort of Altwarp, beach chairs invite you to relax and there are playgrounds and other activities to keep you entertained.

If you don't want to spend the whole day at the beach, you should definitely visit the Ueckermünde Zoo. The monkey forest, Europe's largest aviary and other enclosures are open to visitors. There are several playgrounds for climbing and running around. Or how about a predator safari or a light walk?

On foot through fascinating nature

Put on your rucksack and head out into nature. Either take a guided hike with a certified nature guide or simply head off into the countryside. Enjoy the rustling of the trees and the scent of the forest in the pine and beech forests.

The unspoilt lagoon coast, the inland dunes, the Brohmer Berge and low moorland areas are perfect for hiking. It is also possible that a forest dweller will cross your path. In spring and fall, you can watch thousands of geese and cranes recharging their batteries.

The adventure trail on Lake Eggesin is a small foretaste of the numerous hiking opportunities in the region around the Szczecin Lagoon. The trail leads 7 km around Lake Eggesin. The starting point is the nature park’s visitor information center at Eggesin train station. The trail leads along Bahnhofstraße and Luckower Straße to the road “An der Düne”. At the end of the road, a paved path begins which leads directly to the circular trail.

Hike through the Altwarp inland dunes

The “Am Stettiner Haff” Nature Park is home to a wide variety of habitats in close proximity to one another. But the fact that there are even deserts is a surprise. Every Thursday (1 p.m.) from mid-May to mid-September, a nature park ranger leads you through the vastness of the Altwarp desert (inland dune) landscape. The hike through untouched nature takes about 2.5 hours.
