When the linguists Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm once traveled through Germany, they came across the fairy tale of Frau Holle in the area around the Hoher Meißner. In her honor, Bad Sooden-Allendorf celebrates the “Fairy Tale Week” every year from Easter Sunday, which particularly enchants children and families. Plays, fairy tale readings, games, markets, fireworks and a parade fit particularly well into the idyllic half-timbered backdrop – and from the Söder Tor, Frau Holle shakes out her beds with Pechmarie and Goldmarie every day.

During the fairytale week, Bad Sooden-Allendorf is the ideal destination for families who want to show their children something special during the Easter vacations. In a special setting, children will also love a guided tour of the town or a hike. With daily storytelling, handicraft lessons and puppet shows, the program is always full to bursting.
